Understand your payoff estimate
What this calculator shows
Enter your current balance, yearly interest rate (APR), and planned monthly payment. The calculator estimates how long the balance could take to pay off and how much interest could be paid during that time.
It gives you a planning estimate, not a payoff quote from your credit card company.
How your payment changes the estimate
The monthly payment you enter becomes part of the calculation. Changing that amount can change both the estimated payoff time and the estimated interest.
You can use different payment amounts to see how the estimate changes without the calculator telling you which payment amount you should choose.
What to keep in mind
The calculator uses a simplified monthly interest calculation. Credit card companies often calculate interest using daily balances, and actual results can also change because of new purchases, fees, changing interest rates, payment timing, or other account terms.
Common questions
Is this the same as the payoff amount from my credit card company?
No. It is an estimate based on the numbers you enter. Your actual account balance, interest, fees, and payment timing can make the amount different.
Does the estimate include future purchases or fees?
No. The estimate is based on the balance, interest rate, and payment information you enter now.
